The Kleiss MCS systems lead the natural gas industry in tapping and stopping innovation. In addition to the application advantages the systems offer, highlighted below are the features that make these systems revolutionary.
What makes the Kleiss MCS systems unique is the use of a patented sealing component – MDS Stopper. The MDS Stopper ensures a gas tight seal, no matter the pipe materials, size, or condition. This means that one system can be used in many applications no longer needing a unique system for each job.
Additionally, the way the flexible pneumatic device inflates inside the pipeline, the MDS Stopper creates a seal even over uneven areas and doesn't comprise the integrity of the pipe material – making it a safe alternative to squeezing plastic pipe.
Procedures are standardized, so when your operators learn one size and material, they’ve learned how the system works for them all. Each system has one tapping/completion tool and one stopping tool.
The Kleiss MCS natural gas tapping and stopping systems have been designed specially to save on weight, volume, and number of parts making it portable and user friendly. For example, the stopping tool for the Kleiss MCS60-1016 System (which used on 10" to 16" / 18" PE pipe) only weights 116 pounds.
A single tap with one stopping tool provides multiple functions. The system's two pressure gauges monitor the pressure in the stopper as well as in the pipeline without having to make additional taps. Pipeline purging/evacuating and venting can also be done through that same tap.
With the change of a fitting, the Kleiss MCS tapping and stopping tools work with multiple pipe materials. The the steel fitting covers the system's full range of pipe sizes while the polyethylene and stainless steel saddle fittings are design to be size specific.
